Party Time

I had a great baby shower yesterday! My best friend Abby, my Mom and Jan did a great job putting everything together. There were lots of people there and it was so nice to visit with everyone.

Week in Review

A friend from work threw me an awesome baby shower last week. It was so nice to just chat with all of the ladies from work. As teachers we get to caught up in talking about students. I received so many nice gifts too. Now that baby stuff has started to fill our house I am worried about where it will all go.

TJ's mom came to visit for a few days. We took her shopping and to lots of fun places to eat. It was fun for her and I to get some girl time. She knit a beautiful blanket for Baby D. Here is a cute picture of TJ with his mom.

This was TJ's latest project.  It only took a couple of hours on a Saturday for him to repaint the dresser. Now it matches the baby room! I found some super cute knobs with pictures of little boy clothes on them. I have an amazing husband! He is going to be a great dad!

Part 3

We are now in the third trimester with only 10 more weeks to go! I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone. It seems like just yesterday we were praying to reach 12 weeks. Baby Wolfe has become quite active over the last 2 weeks. He kicks and punches and does somersaults all over my stomach. I have kankles on an almost permanent basis now. I am starting to feel the nesting need, wishing I could stay home every day and take all the time I can to clean the house from top to bottom.

We started prenatal classes a couple of weeks ago. They have been interesting so far. Last week we watched a birthing video and made a cervix out of play-dough. TJ is taking the classes very seriously and is going to be a great birthing coach. He was so excited when I told him to put some Grateful Dead on my relaxation play list.

Mothers Day #1

I had a great first Mothers Day. TJ gave me a Shark steam cleaner, which will really help me satisfy my nesting needs. He made me breakfast and lunch in bed (we have a late church time). I got lots of cards and a pair of great earrings from my parents. My dad gave me a great pacifier for the baby. It is pictured below.

It is strange that a day which previously brought a lot of sadness and tears has become a day of celebration (still with some tears). My heart was full of gratitude to my Heavenly Father for allowing me this opportunity to become a mother. I also had a great feeling of empathy for the many women who are still struggling to feel the blessings of motherhood. I will forever remember the empty and inadequate feelings I had as we struggled to begin our family. There is nothing I can say to these women who still struggle, only that I understand and know that Heavenly Father has a plan specifically for you.

At Least We Did Something

TJ and I had Spring Break last week. We started our vacation a bit early with a trip to Carlin, Nevada. TJ's school had a field trip to the Fire Science Academy there.  We had a tour of the facilities and lunch with the students. It was an interesting tour. It was really great to meet some of TJ's students and get to know them. They of course think TJ is a great teacher and like him a lot.

After our one night stay in Carlin we continued to Salt Lake City. We visited with my sister Kelsie who graduated from the LDS Business College. We are so proud of her. We also spend time revisiting all of our favorite Salt Lake locations. We went past the old ghetto apartment where we used to live, and our old chapel. Of course we visited our favorite chocolate shop. Is it sad that they still remember us there and its been almost four years since we moved? I don't care, their chocolate is the best! We also got to visit with old friends.  It was a wonderful trip and brought back so many nice memories. TJ and I loved living in Salt Lake City and had some great experiences there.

TJ's dad came to visit us during the last few days of Spring Break. We had a great visit with him. They spent time at the bookstore and shopping for CD's. Tom was very generous and bought the car seat and stroller for the baby. When we brought the stroller home and got it out of the box Leia was afraid of it. She skirted past it in the house and hid in the other room. To further torture her I took her for a walk around the block with the stroller. She has been less freaked since.

Did I Mention It Was a Boy?

Here is a picture of our baby boy at 24 weeks. The doctor says he weighs about 2 pounds now. He was moving around a lot during our last ultrasound, but this time he wasn't budging. The doctor was bouncing the wand on my stomach trying to get hime to rotate. Everything else looks great. I lost 6 pounds between this doctor appointment and the last one. This pregnancy seems to be going by so quickly. Everyday I add something to thie list of things that need to be done before his arrival.
I continue to feel increadibly blessed. Pregnancy is an amazing miracle, and I thank Heavenly Father every day for this little boy that will soon be joining our family. TJ and I are so thankful for the many prayers and fasts that were done on our behalf. Okay, sentimental pregnancy moment over.
