The wussiest dog in the world.

This is Leia. I figured I would take a picture of her and upload it for kicks and giggles. I tried to get a movie of her, but she wouldn't move or do anything, so this picture is as good as a video of her.

I've photographed her in her new favorite spot - on the $5 doggie pad in front of our dresser. She drags that stupid thing all around to find the best spot, but we always drag it back to this spot to keep her out of our way. She whines a lot. She barks a lot. She sheds a lot. I'm glad she finally stopped dumping and whizzing in the house.

Leia's also the wussiest dog I've ever known. The poor thing is scared by just about anything: bicycles, strollers, speakerphones, wrapping paper, RC Cars, puppies (yes, puppies), the list goes on.

She's an obnoxious dog at times, but then again, isn't everybody obnoxious at some point in time - I know I am.

Free Snowcone After the Game!!

So, for the first time in my life I am taking part in a fantasy sport. My church buddies started up a fantasy baseball league. We had our draft today. Yeah, I like the Dodgers and all, but I don't follow sports much at all. I figure that I will provide the cushion at last place so that nobody else will feel bad. "Well, at least you didn't do as bad as TJ..."

I'd like to have an alternate "Fantasy" game. How about fantasy comic book characters, where each month, when the new issues come out, we have to rate how our picks are doing. Batman fights Solomon Grundy -- 10 points. Superman encounters black kryptonite - lose 20 points. You know, something like that. Maybe, 2 points for every time Harvey Pekar complains about a bit of minutiae in his life.

Or the guys with kids could do "Fantasy Little-League" - where they trade their t-ball aged kids for others in an effort to totally pwn the diamond. Maybe instead of points, you'd just play for snowcones. Do they still hand out the free snowcone at the end of the game?
I'm aware that sports happen, but I don't pay too much attention. So, I spent most of the time trying to find players with cool names. There was a Brian Wilson, but someone else picked him first. Also, there were a few Zimmermans, but alas, no Robert...

I picked out mostly Dodgers players. I got Andre Ethier - which is cool because I actually know who he is and he shares a name with one of the guys in The Deadly Snakes - awesome band. I got some dude named Pujols, who I'm told is pretty good. I also picked Aaron Rowand - I went to school with him.
Well, I fully expect to be the source of endless derision for the next seven months. Is baseball season really that long? "Boys of Summer" my a... ah, nevermind.

22 Weeks Later

Here I am at 22 weeks.  I felt the baby roll over this week.  He's using my internal organs as punching bags.  Oh well, at least my liver will regenerate.

TJ and I will be better at posting pictures of the pregnancy, for the benefit of interested parties that aren't local to Reno.  We know you guys care, and we appreciate it.  We think that Leia suspects that a new addition is arriving, she seems to be doing okay.  But then again, she's a dog.  Really, what can you tell unless you're Caeser Milan or something.

Enjoy.

Insomnia / Lazy Sunday

So, I can't sleep and I figured I'd do a little web-browsing. I found this site, which you may already be familiar with: restrainingbolt.com. As far as I can tell it's a guy's website devoted to his collection of Star Wars memorabilia. One of the coolest things on there is a ceramic Sand-Speeder soapdish. Anyhoo, you can also generate your name (or any word, really) with letters that contain images of characters / scenes from Empire Strikes Back. This is totally cool! I get Wedge, Luke and Artoo on Degobah, Vader, Bossk, and Chewy with the mask on checkin' on the Minocks.

So, we spent our Sunday being pretty lazy. We went for a drive with the in-laws around town. They took us to pick up a free changing table and crib that grandma and grandpa Eudy will be using at there house for when the little goober stays over at their place, or when we're over there hanging out and he needs to be changed - then we won't have to do it on their furniture or on the computer desk.

After getting those things we went for a drive in the hills to look at and feed the wild horses (couldn't drag me awaaayyy). One of them smeared snot (or what we hope was JUST snot - those things don't mind eating hay that is on the ground sprinkled amongst their own droppings) on Jamilynn's back. So, they ate our carrots that we brought and wanted more.

Yeah, I know this has been a pretty boring post. Thanks for sticking with it and reading it to the end. You can now move on with your life with a renewed sense of accomplishment.

Of Cribs and Quilts

TJ here -
So, I've got a pretty sweet mother-in-law.  Kaylynn made me this awesome Star Wars quilt.   She dropped it by last night and it is really cool. She went on Ebay to get the sheet that she used.  That's O.G. Star Wars, baby!  No Jar-Jar, senate debates, or Greedo shooting first.  The best thing about the blanket is that the human characters don't really look like their movie counterparts.  The quilt still kicks all kinds of butt from here to Sunday.
Also, you can see the quilt in the picture is draped over our son's crib.  Jim and Kaylynn helped us pick it up from Burlington today.  It's their gift for the baby. It didn't take me too long to put it together - I guess I'm not completely mechanically inept.  We've got a mattress and everything for it, too.  Jamilynn didn't like my plywood plank idea for our kid's sleeping arrangements.  Well, we're getting things ready for the kid.

Games

TJ and I forgot how fun it can be to just get together with friends and play a game. We had a great time getting together with friends over the weekend to play a new game. Such a relaxing evening, we can't wait to do it again.

A New Addition

We found out Monday that we will be having a baby boy! We sure have a fidgety little guy, he was moving all around during the ultrasound. We will post some pictures soon, we are still learning how to do that.
